Suffuse create / claim · hosted keys

Create / claim

Name a node, prove a domain, embed.

Community is one click — you can embed right after create. Verified is an optional trust upgrade: publish a standing DNS TXT or /.well-known/udisc record that names this node’s public key, leave that record up, then Verify. The host holds the owner key encrypted.

Laptop lab is on. Serve laptop record only works for .test / .invalid domains — not production DNS or a real website.
STEP 1 · CREATE

Community node

Namespaced handle, like c/inkstone. Domain belongs in step 2. Create commits a live node — it does not rename. Embed works after this step; claiming is optional.

STEP 2 · PROVE

Standing claim

What you’re proving: you control this domain for this node. The record must stay published (not a one-time code you delete).

Option A — DNS TXT

  1. Open your DNS panel for the domain
  2. Create TXT name: _udisc (full name _udisc.<domain>)
  3. Value exactly: v=udisc1 node=<PUBLIC_KEY> (no extra quotes unless the DNS UI requires them)
  4. Wait for DNS; click Verify

Option B — HTTPS well-known

  1. Host a file at https://<domain>/.well-known/udisc
  2. Body exactly one line: v=udisc1 node=<PUBLIC_KEY> (copy from step 1)
  3. Must be HTTPS, no redirects, Content-Type text/plain (or ok as text)
  4. Click Verify
Record preview — publish this, leave it up
Create a node, then this shows the exact TXT / file body.

Skip Verify to stay community. Universe search still lists the node; it just will not get a verified badge.

STEP 3 · EMBED

Live in the host

Community nodes can embed after step 1. Claim is optional for a verified badge. Pass five color tokens explicitly — do not steal the host stylesheet.

Paint the five colors of the screen where Discussion sits

The preview is the embed. It wears only these colors — not Suffuse. Whatever you pass is what readers see.

Create a node first.
anti-capture
Verified ownership follows the standing claim. A later party who proves the same domain becomes owner — that is succession with the product, not a people-handshake. Community nodes are not transferable. The operator may delist from search, not seize the log.
